Bentley Brooklands: prices and specifications

1 generations Country of origin: United Kingdom

Bentley Brooklands is a premium car from the British brand, created to replace the outdated Mulsanne model. The model's name refers to the Brooklands racing track in Weybridge (Surrey), considered the birthplace of British rally sport.

The model was developed as the successor to the Mulsanne and a more affordable alternative to the Bentley Turbo R. It was based on the upgraded Rolls-Royce Spirit platform and used engines and transmissions from this platform. The world premiere took place in 1992. The car retained the signature "angular" exterior with a "waterfall" style radiator grille, dual round headlights, chrome B-pillars, and a sloping trunk. Production continued until 1997, after which the model was replaced by the Bentley Arnage.

Ten years later, the company decided to revive the Brooklands. To expand the Arnage family, a coupe and convertible were needed, and the coupe role was given to the revived Brooklands. The world premiere of the updated model took place in 2008. The exterior design was created by Dirk van Braeckel, who abandoned the signature B-pillar. Otherwise, the appearance and interior repeated the Arnage, as did the technical specifications. Production of the coupe lasted three years and ended in 2011. A total of 550 units were assembled.

The car was equipped with a 6.7-liter twin-turbocharged gasoline engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Drive was rear-wheel.
