It is worth debunking the common stereotype that cars with gas equipment wear out quickly, and that fuel supposedly harms the engine and shortens its service life. To what extent does this correspond to reality, and are there any tricks for long-term operation of a car on liquefied gas — let's ask a direct participant in the events.

First, let's clarify: we are talking about a Skoda Octavia with a 1.6 MPI petrol engine. This power unit has earned a reputation as one of the most durable and unpretentious. Moreover, it works perfectly on gas fuel. Today, the odometer of this Skoda shows 1,170,000 km! At the same time, almost a million kilometers of the car were covered on gas. On average, the car travels about 150 thousand kilometers per year.

As the owner himself tells, who, by the way, regularly visits Ukraine from Moldova to visit the service center Motor-Gas for inspection of gas equipment, his car is equipped with a Shark reducer that has already worked half a million kilometers, and Fliper injectors that have covered 247 thousand km over two years.
