It must be admitted that the Ukrainian army is mainly armed with equipment inherited from the USSR. But we also have such pride as, for example, the BTR-4E, which we have already written about.
In fact, Ukraine has very worthy developments in the field of military equipment that can quite meet world standards. Unfortunately, many of them are sold abroad or "buried" before they are even born. But the current events in the country, we hope, will make it clear to everyone that it is time to feed, clothe, and arm our own army. And if this happens, then we will see modern equipment not only in commercials and news but also in our army.
In addition to increasing the combat capability of our armed forces, this will also increase the economic potential of weapons developers. Here is one of the first candidates for service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine - the armored vehicle "Dozor-B".
This is indeed a modern, high-quality combat unit capable of easing the work of military personnel during service, especially in combat zones. The armored vehicle's hull is made of armored steel and provides protection for the crew, troops, and internal equipment from small arms and weapons of mass destruction. The bottom has a special shape that ensures protection of the crew from mines.
Armament may include: a 12.7-mm anti-aircraft machine gun mount. The anti-aircraft machine gun mount is equipped with an optical monocular periscopic sight PZU-7, which has a magnification of 1.2 and a field of view of 50°. The ammunition load is 450 rounds (three belts of 150 rounds each). Elevation angles are from -3° to +68°, traverse is 360°. Additionally, a 30-mm automatic grenade launcher KBA-117.
As the power plant, IVECO 8142.38.11 or DEUTZ BF 4M 1013 FC engines are used, each of which is a four-stroke, four-cylinder in-line diesel with turbocharging and intercooling. The transmission includes a gearbox, transfer case, wheel reducers, front and rear final drives, and driveshafts. Drive is permanent all-wheel drive. For ease of control, an automatic transmission Allison 1000LCT is used.
This armored vehicle was developed taking into account world requirements, and in the world's armies, soldiers have long been treated with respect, so it is also comfortable. For example, the "Dozor-B" is equipped with an air conditioning and air purification system, as well as a ventilation system with forced air circulation and removal of powder gases when firing small arms with the filter-ventilation unit turned off.
The liquid-type heating system ensures comfortable living conditions for the crew and troops of the armored personnel carrier in the cold season by heating the air in the habitable compartment and blowing warm air onto the front glass units.
We eagerly await the time when our army will finally receive support at the state level. So far, we only see unprecedented patriotism of the population, who at their own expense clothe, shoe, and feed their army.
