Rear-end collision
The most primitive scheme is to put your car under a vehicle that is driving behind. This usually happens on slippery surfaces.

The calculation here is simple. According to the rules, if we speak simply, "the one who was driving behind is always at fault." No arguments that "the driver in front braked sharply" will work — you were obliged to maintain a safe distance. These arguments will not help if you do not have a dash cam or witnesses.

"Let the hurryer pass"
This scheme involves at least two cars of the fraudsters. One of them gets behind the victim and begins to demonstrate haste in every way: honking, flashing high beams, and almost touching the bumper. Eventually, the driver of the "attacked" car cannot withstand such pressure and changes lanes to the right. At that moment, the second participant of the setup, who was driving in the right lane, either sharply accelerates when the victim changes lanes, or suddenly appears from the far right lane (while before the maneuver, the victim sees a peacefully rolling GAZelle in the mirror).

The result is the same — the victim hears a hit on the right side, the "hurryer" disappears without a trace, and the job is done. In such a situation, it will be possible to prove the fact of a setup only if there are two (ideally four) video cameras on the car. Perhaps you will be lucky if the incident is recorded by the dash cam of a car driving behind all participants. But only if the owner of that recording does not remain indifferent to someone else's misfortune. Testimony of other drivers who saw the setup may also be useful.

"Overtake the slowpoke"
The events unfold on a road with one lane in each direction and a solid line marking. Two cars of the criminals are involved in the scheme. The one driving ahead slows down and begins to crawl at a minimal speed. Sooner or later, the victim loses patience and goes for an overtake, crossing the solid line.

At the moment when the victim pulls into the oncoming lane, the "slowpoke" adds gas, and the victim is forced to return to their lane. Simultaneously, the car driving behind also presses the gas and collides with the side of the victim's car. In the analysis of such an accident, everything will not be in favor of the victim: they crossed the solid line and caused an accident while trying to return to their lane.

It is worth noting that, according to drivers' stories, there is also a less dangerous version of the "overtake the slowpoke" scheme. In this case, the "slowpoke" conspires with traffic police officers, and the victim, after crossing the solid dividing line, is already awaited by a patrol car...

Scheme "Box"

The scheme of this setup looks like this: to your left, an expensive foreign car is driving. At the right moment, it imitates a jerk into your lane. The instinct of self-preservation, reinforced by the sight of an expensive car, forces you to jerk the steering wheel to the right, where a criminal's car is already "waiting" for you.

A few words about "educators" on the road
A significant part of staged accidents is committed not for profit. Often people want to "teach a lesson" to a driver who, in their opinion, created an emergency situation, did not let them pass, or drove too slowly.

"Teachers" should remember that such a "lesson" can end in tragedy. The Nissan driver did not like that the "five" could not quickly complete overtaking a truck, and he decided to teach the old VAZ a lesson.

To avoid a collision, the VAZ sharply turned left, where it collided with an oncoming car. As a result, two dead and two injured. The only good thing is that the culprit of the accident was detained.

Often people in a fit of "revenge" (or simply due to natural stupidity) commit reckless acts.
