These developments by Soviet engineers never made it to public roads.
AZLK 2144 "Istra" is one of the most curious works of the once-popular plant. The car was designed from 1985 to 1988.
In terms of its characteristics, it significantly surpassed everything AZLK had produced before. The car featured an automatic transmission, a diesel engine with moderate appetite, and air conditioning. The body had good aerodynamics. But it never went beyond a prototype — the project remained a project.
AZLK 2143 "Yauza", an experimental sample.
This car was ahead of its time. Even now, its interior looks quite relevant.
AZLK 2141 KR "Moskvich", prototype, 1988.
Under the hood was a UZAM 412 engine with a displacement of 1995 cm³, producing 175 hp, with two paired Weber carburetors, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. The curb weight was 890 kilograms, and the maximum speed reached 200 km/h.
What could the AZLK "Moskvich" cars have been like
