Skoda Yeti: prices and specifications

2 generations Country of origin: Czechia

Skoda Yeti is a compact crossover from the Czech manufacturer. The model name refers to the Yeti, hinting at its ability to handle challenging roads.

The public debut of the new model took place in March 2009 at the Geneva Motor Show. The car is built on the Volkswagen A5 platform (PQ35 version), which is also used in the Volkswagen Tiguan. Thanks to this platform, the Yeti's ground clearance is 180 mm.

The model features modern technical solutions. The rear seats are organized according to the Vario Flex system: each of the three seats has an independent mounting. If the center seat is removed, the side seats can be moved toward the center by 80 mm. The trunk volume ranges from 510 to 1760 liters, with the maximum achieved after removing all three rear seats. Active safety is ensured by bi-xenon headlights with swivel modules. During emergency braking, the brake lights flash to reduce the risk of rear-end collisions.

Official sales of the Yeti in Ukraine started in 2009. The base gasoline engine is 1.2 L (105 hp). The 1.4 L engine (122 hp) combines good dynamics with low fuel consumption. The flagship gasoline engine 1.8 L (152 hp) is installed only on all-wheel drive versions. Diesel engines with a volume of 2.0 L are offered in three power options: 110, 140, and 170 hp. Transmissions include a 5- or 6-speed manual, as well as a 6-speed DSG robot. Drive is front or all-wheel drive.
