Previously, the car was known only from spy shots.

With its appearance, the car represents a new Citroen style, which will be broadly repeated across all models of the brand. In addition to showcasing the design, this prototype plays an important technical role; its platform will be used to create a similar Peugeot model and a compact premium crossover from the DS segment. Recall that this is now a separate brand.

It is reported that the Aircross is an all-wheel-drive hybrid. At the front, torque is transmitted to the wheels from a 1.6-liter gasoline turbo engine with 218 hp, while the rear wheels are driven by a 95-horsepower electric motor. The battery packs can be recharged from the mains. On electric power alone, the car can travel up to 50 km. With the internal combustion engine running, the claimed fuel consumption is 1.7 l/100 km. And this is despite decent acceleration dynamics to 100 km/h – 4.5 seconds. Hard to believe? Time will tell.

One of the most memorable details are the air cushions on the corners of the body and doors - they protect against scratches and dents from minor impacts or low-speed collisions. On the Aircross, this system of external air cushions (like on the Cactus) has evolved into cushions with an aluminum honeycomb filler and a shell of hard rubber.
