Honda Ridgeline: model range overview

Honda Ridgeline is a full-size pickup truck from the Japanese manufacturer, designed for the North American market. The model name translates to "mountain ridge."

By the mid-2000s, Honda had strengthened its position in the North American market, producing sedans, station wagons, hatchbacks, and crossovers. However, the pickup segment, dominated by American brands as well as Toyota and Nissan, remained unexplored by the company. In this regard, management decided to create its own pickup. The vehicle was built on the platform from the Acura MDX. The first prototypes began testing in the US in 2003, with production planned at Honda's plant in Alliston. The prototype was presented in 2004, and the world premiere took place at the Detroit Auto Show in 2005.

A design feature of the model was the hybrid chassis, combining elements of a unibody and a ladder frame. The pickup was equipped with an independent rear suspension, providing better handling and comfort for rear passengers compared to competitors with dependent suspension. The free space under the cargo bed was used by engineers for an additional trunk compartment. The tailgate opened in two ways — downward or sideways.

The vehicle underwent two facelifts — in 2009 and 2012.

In Ukraine, the Honda Ridgeline is only available through unofficial dealers. Four trim levels are available. Under the hood is a 3.5-liter gasoline engine paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. Drive is all-wheel drive.
