Robotic mechanics (Easytronic, SMT, Selespeed)

Robotic mechanics is a manual transmission where electronics control the clutch instead of a pedal. Such systems are known as Easytronic, SMT, and Selespeed.

Compared to a classic automatic transmission with a torque converter, it consumes less fuel. However, in most of these units, gear shifts occur with noticeable pauses and jerks.
