We are talking about the flagship sedan Tesla Model S P85D. Owners of this model contacted the company with a collective letter demanding clarification on why the characteristics stated on the official website do not match the real indicators. During testing, it was found that the total output of the electric motors is 564 hp, while the documentation indicated 700 horsepower.
Later, Tesla representative JB Straubel explained that the discrepancy arose due to an error in calculating the combined power of the two electric motors (the all-wheel drive Model S P85D is equipped with one motor on each axle). Shortly after, the power data disappeared from the company's official website.
