Toyota Verso: prices and specifications

1 generations Country of origin: Japan

Toyota Verso is a Japanese car that combines the features of a station wagon and a minivan. It replaced the Corolla Verso model. Translated from Italian, the model name means "reverse side".

Initially, the Verso was only a modification of the bestseller Corolla and was developed specifically for the North American market, where such cars are in demand. In Europe, it was to compete with the Opel Zafira Tourer, Ford C-Max, Volkswagen Touran, and Peugeot 5008. Under the name Corolla Verso, the car was produced from 1997 to 2009, until the company decided to make the minivan a separate model.

Serial production of the new Verso started in 2009, and its debut took place at the Geneva Motor Show. The car received a modern corporate exterior and an easily transformable interior. A key feature was the availability of five- and seven-seat versions. The powertrains (gasoline and diesel) were carried over from the Corolla.

In 2011, at the Paris Motor Show, an updated Verso was presented. The changes affected the exterior: the radiator grille was made in the new Under Priority design style, and the headlights in the Keen Look style. The car's dimensions increased slightly, allowing for a larger interior and trunk volume. The latter can be adjusted using the Trunk Management system. Technical improvements included recalibration of the rear suspension and steering mechanism to improve handling. The engines of the previous version were modernized: they became more economical and environmentally friendly.

In Ukraine, the model officially appeared in 2013. The car was offered in five- and seven-seat versions. Only gasoline engines with a displacement of 1.6 and 1.8 liters are available, paired with a six-speed manual transmission or a CVT. Drive — front.
