Toyota Venza: prices and specifications

2 generations Country of origin: Japan

Toyota Venza

Toyota Venza is a hybrid of a station wagon and a minivan, which the manufacturer positions as a compact crossover for active young families. The model name is derived from the words Venture and Monza, an Italian racing track.

First generation

Development of the model began in 2004, when Toyota decided to compete in the North American market with the Nissan Rogue and Honda Crosstour. Engineers at the Toyota Technical Centre in Michigan used the Camry platform as a base. The FT-SX prototype was shown in 2005 at the Detroit Auto Show — its unusual shapes immediately attracted attention. Over the next three years, the vehicle was tested in various climatic conditions, including Death Valley.

The official premiere took place in 2008 at the Detroit Auto Show. The design was developed by the American division Calty Design, and production was set up at Toyota's plant in Kentucky.

2012 facelift

At the 2012 New York Auto Show, an updated version of the Venza was introduced. Changes affected the exterior, interior, and engines.

Engines and drive

The model is equipped with two gasoline engines: 2.7 and 3.5 liters. Both work in conjunction with a six-speed automatic transmission. Drive — front or all-wheel.

Trim features

In Ukraine, the Toyota Venza is not officially sold, but any trim options are available from unofficial dealers. Even in the base version, the crossover has a full set of active and passive safety systems, power package, and Entune multimedia system.
