Renault KWID is an A-class hatchback designed for operation on roads with poor surfaces. The model debuted in India in May 2015 as a production version of the concept car first shown in 2014. Sales in India began in the second half of 2015.
The hatchback stands out with massive wheel arches, increased ground clearance, and plastic body cladding, giving it a resemblance to a scaled-down version of the Duster. The car is assembled at the Indian plant in Tamil Nadu. The main competitors of the KWID in the market are the Maruti Alto, Hyundai Eon, and Chevrolet Spark.
The model's ground clearance is 180 mm, and the body is additionally protected by plastic. The car's dimensions: length — 3.68 meters, width — 1.58 meters. Under the hood is a three-cylinder gasoline engine with a displacement of 0.8 liters, paired with a five-speed manual transmission.
