Mitsubishi ASX: prices and specifications

4 generations Country of origin: Japan

The compact crossover Mitsubishi ASX combines the comfort and handling characteristics of the Outlander XL and Lancer X. Its name stands for Active Sport X-over, meaning "crossover for active driving." In the Japanese market, this model is sold under the name RVR.

The prototype of the ASX was the Concept-cX, presented at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show. The production version debuted in 2010 at the Geneva Motor Show. The car is built on the Project Global platform, shared with the Lancer X and Outlander XL. A unique color "kawasemi" was developed for the model — a turquoise-blue shade reminiscent of a kingfisher. Production of the ASX is established in Japan.

In April 2012, an updated version of the ASX was shown in New York. The facelift affected the front part: a new bumper, different fog lights, and a different grille. The front doors were adorned with chrome inserts. The rear bumper also changed. The rear suspension was refined to improve comfort and handling. The engine lineup was expanded with two 1.8-liter diesels producing 116 or 150 hp, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.

In Ukraine, official sales of the Mitsubishi ASX began in 2010. Buyers have access to three gasoline engines: 1.6 L (117 hp), 1.8 L (140 hp), and 2.0 L (150 hp). The car is equipped with a 5-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission, which eliminates the need for manual gear shifting. Drive — front or all-wheel drive.
