In 1962, Mitsubishi introduced its first Colt model — a rear-wheel drive sedan. It wasn't until 1979 that a front-wheel drive hatchback with the same name appeared. The word "Colt" in English means not only a revolver but also a foal. The seventh generation (2003) noticeably grew in size and turned into a microvan. Additionally, the Colt was produced in a three-door version and as a convertible.
