Ferrari La Ferrari: prices and specifications

1 generations Country of origin: Italy

Ferrari La Ferrari is a supercar that replaced the Enzo Ferrari model. It is the first hybrid sports car in the history of the Italian brand, created by the joint efforts of the company's engineers and specialists from the University of Modena. The model's name translates from Italian as "this is Ferrari."

Work on the car, which was to replace the eponymous sports car in Ferrari's lineup, started in 2005. At that time, a prototype called the Ferrari FXX with a berlinetta body was created. The concept was tested on closed tracks: the car's power was so great that the company did not dare to release it on public roads. Scientists from the University of Modena participated in the development of the production version — in particular, they worked on creating an ultra-light body (it was assumed that the curb weight would not exceed one ton). The main focus, however, was on the powertrain: the brand decided for the first time to use a hybrid engine. One of the features of the unit was a kinetic energy recovery system, which during testing reduced fuel consumption by 40 percent compared to a similar petrol engine. La Ferrari became the most powerful car in the company's history: the combined output of the petrol and electric motors reaches 963 horsepower. The appearance of the new model, created by designer Flavio Manzoni, references the brand's sports cars of the 1960s-70s.

The public premiere of the production version took place at the Geneva Motor Show in 2013. The car was produced in a limited edition of 499 units.

The model is equipped with a hybrid powertrain with a displacement of 6.3 liters, paired with a seven-speed automatic DCT gearbox. Drive — rear.
