Aston Martin DB9: prices and specifications

3 generations Country of origin: United Kingdom

Aston Martin DB9 is a sports car from the British brand that replaced the DB7 model, produced from 1994 to 2004. The model name stands for the initials of former company owner David Brown (DB) and the generation number ('9').

First generation (2004–2008)

Development of the model began in 2002. Management tasked designer Ian Callum with creating the exterior of the new car. He worked on it for about two years but did not complete the project, focusing on the Jaguar X-Type. The work was finished by another brand designer, Henrik Fisker. By 2004, a batch of test prototypes was assembled, which were tested on roads and proving grounds in Western Europe for a year. The world premiere took place at the Paris Motor Show in 2004. The DB9 became the first model assembled at the new Aston Martin factory in Gaydon, UK. The car is built on the VH platform and was produced in two body styles: coupe and convertible (Volante). In 2007, a limited edition DB9 LM was released, dedicated to the victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans race.

2008 facelift

In 2008, the model was updated. Changes affected the radiator grille, side mirrors, and rear lights, which were styled after the Aston Martin DBS. The interior was also transformed, and the car's dimensions increased. After the facelift, the DB9 began to be equipped with a more powerful gasoline engine and an upgraded Touchtronic automatic transmission. Later, the car underwent two more facelifts in 2011 and 2012.

Deliveries to Ukraine

Official deliveries of the Aston Martin DB9 to Ukraine started in 2011. Before that, the car was sold only through unofficial dealers. On the Ukrainian market, the model is available in coupe and convertible body styles. It is equipped with a 6.0-liter V12 gasoline engine paired with a six-speed Touchtronic automatic transmission. Drive is rear-wheel.
