General Motors admitted that it produces low-quality cars

December 9, 2008 · A discussion from the forum archive

Aksakal: The German proverb "any car eventually becomes an 'Opel'" has received official confirmation — the parent concern itself admitted that it produces cars of not the highest quality. It's time to abandon bulky pickups and SUVs. Houses have already been built in abundance, due to the crisis entire neighborhoods stand unsold, so pickups for transporting building materials are needed only in the Slavic region, where individual construction is still active. Given the energy crisis, traffic jams, and parking problems, it's worth betting on compact models of classes A, B, and C. It would be good if the new "Astra" turned out better than the previous one. The victory of the Insignia in the "Car of the Year 2009" contest gives at least some hope for GM, which is currently holding on thanks to government bailouts in the US.
I think this is not news — everyone already understood that the dashboard was made of very cheap plastic, like the whole car in general. If they had lowered the prices on them, it would have been quite good.
Every product has its buyer. Apparently, someone seriously expects to win a market share from the Chinese.
Well, they are still far from the miracle Chinese cars, but the aspiration is there ))
