Aveo for $15000!

September 18, 2008 · A discussion from the forum archive

What are you paying for?
A popular car! I would take a closer look at the Getz or Accent.
What do you mean by popular? I've always believed that a car is chosen for its reliability, appearance, equipment, and build quality, and certainly not for how widespread it is. For 15,000 you can find many options from Hyundai, Skoda, KIA, and even Nissan. What does Aveo have to do with it, what are you even talking about?
I agree with Azeff — there's no point in lowering the price if the model consistently ranks among the top three best-sellers in our market. As long as the Aveo remains in demand, UkrAVTO won't give up a single dollar.

What are you talking about? Many people buy a car not because of reliability at all - how can you even assess it? If the Aveo is often seen on the roads and drives fine, then the car is not a piece of junk. But only one in a hundred will think to calculate how much spare parts cost at an official dealer.
I didn't quite understand what was meant regarding the spare parts?
It's not for nothing that it received 21 points out of 37 possible for safety.
And for 1 airbag too :)
Now Aveo is cheaper.
Cheaper than what? Maybe only VW Golf or Octavia.
This is too expensive for such a car! For that money, you get a weak gearbox, not the most successful design, a poor interior, a mediocre engine, and terrible handling.

Are you comparing this with your own legs?
Where on earth do you get such figures from? Even if the Aveo costs ten thousand, that's still too much. And a Getz for twelve — do you think that's cheap? And what makes it better than the Aveo anyway?
Ten thousand for an Aveo is already a quite adequate price. But the Getz really does outperform the Aveo in almost every parameter. I've driven both cars. The Getz truly only loses to the Aveo in ride smoothness — although for some, that's not critical. In everything else, it's complete superiority. It fully justifies its 12–13 thousand, although given the current market situation, the price seems slightly inflated. By the way, the topic was created back in the fall, when prices were completely different.
Does it make sense to take Aveo now? It's a step back compared to Cruze.
In fact, Cruze costs completely different money, and someone who has that amount won't even look at Aveo.
