I drove a chipped Tucson for a week, filling it with 95-octane gasoline, although the firmware is designed for 92-octane. I was satisfied. Now in the parking lot I start moving without pressing the gas pedal — both forward and backward. I never thought about that before. Fuel consumption on the highway on 95-octane dropped slightly, by about 0.3 liters. But in the city, especially in traffic jams, the savings are more noticeable — by 1–1.5 liters, because you rev the engine less. I even tried starting from a traffic light in second gear — it worked, but only as an experiment.
Today I filled up 40 liters of 92-octane at the ANP gas station on the Boryspil highway, reset the computer, and at a speed of 105 by the speedometer (real 98) got a consumption of 7.5 liters per hundred. The figure held until the railway bridge (Bazhana Avenue — Dniprovska Embankment). Then in traffic jams to the Hotel "Slavutych" and back to Poznyaky, consumption rose to 8.7 liters. For comparison: on 95-octane it was 9.2, and before chipping on 95-octane — about 10.5. But at traffic lights I'm one of the first to start. I'm satisfied with the tuning; I received my old and new firmware on a flash drive on 13.04.2010. After chipping, I've already driven 200 km.
