Hello, Anatoliy. I am planning to buy a car in the near future, but I won't be able to register it in my name right away — I'll have to buy it by power of attorney. The car is currently with the second owner, who also uses it by power of attorney from the first owner. The first owner is ready to re-register the car or issue a new power of attorney. The question is: if I don't sign any documents with the legal owner, what will the tax be calculated on when deregistering and registering? And will my name appear anywhere when deregistering at the MREO? Thanks in advance.

By law, you can sell one car per year without paying income tax, so there should be no problems with the tax office. An alternative option is to conduct the transaction through a consignment store, where they usually indicate a symbolic amount like "sold for 100 UAH".

Краще все ж таки переоформити одразу, бо з довіреністю потім можуть бути проблеми, особливо якщо перший власник щось передумає. Податок рахуватимуть від вартості, яку впишуть у договір, але якщо не оформляти, то взагалі ніхто нічого не нарахує — тільки ризик.
