Winter tires

Take Michelin and don't worry about it. I myself have a Nissan, though a Note, and I got Michelin Alpin tires — completely satisfied. If your winters are harsh, you can consider Michelin X-Ice. Nokian is also often recommended, but its prices are clearly inflated.

Alpin is more suitable for mild winters and mainly for city driving. But X-Ice is for harsh conditions. A new model, X-Ice 2, has just come out, and they say it's an excellent tire overall. Though, it's hard to find in Kyiv — I want to switch to it myself. Overall, Michelin is a solid tire, quality is top-notch, and the price reflects that.

I settled on the MICHELIN brand. However, it seems to me that for Kyiv roads and Ukrainian winters, the Alpine model would be more suitable — it is designed for mild winters. Should I then take the X-Ice? And why?

Don't delay so much — a couple of years ago I also put it off and ended up in a minor accident on the first frost. After that incident, I always put winter tires on in early November. An acquaintance who has been selling tires for a long time advised me to get Dunlop: they are a bit more expensive, but the quality is good. That's for sure, no point in putting it off. I also once didn't change my tires in time — barely made it out alive. Now I always switch tires by season. Good thing I realized in time: winter tires weren't invented for nothing, and after that incident I decided to buy more expensive and reliable tires.

If you don't put off changing your tires until the last moment, it's quite realistic to get into a tire service without a queue. But with the first snow, everyone rushes to change their shoes at once and then stands in queues for several hours.
