I confess to something terrible: over the past year, I twice failed to stop when a traffic inspector signaled me to. Both times it happened by chance: I was driving in the left lane, noticed the officer only when I was already level with him, and sharply changing lanes across two or three lanes is not exactly a pleasure.
Funny enough, the second time it happened on the Ring Road, and when I passed through the checkpoint on the Dnipropetrovske Highway, no one even paid attention to me. Don't they have communication with each other?
And finally, a bold question: what's the point of stopping at all? :)

This is the main problem of our country: nobody respects the law or fears the consequences. Why stop? Because it's the rule! And that's it — you don't even need to think, it's a rule, a law, and it cannot be broken.
It's interesting what would happen to such a reckless driver, say, in Germany — there he would pay a hefty fine, or even lose his license.
Here, of course, the penalties for such violations are quite sad. Although you might run into a principled inspector who will record the license plates, summon you to court — and then either a fine or license suspension.
Unfortunately, until adequate fines and a real mechanism for their collection appear in our country, nothing will change — everything rests only on the driver's conscience. If you want to change the world, start with yourself.
