Seat Ateca became the first full-fledged crossover in the history of the Spanish brand. The public premiere of the model took place in the spring of 2016 at the Geneva Motor Show. Like other models of the company, the car was named after one of the cities in Spain. The Ateca is based on the modular MQB platform, which is also used in the Volkswagen Tiguan crossover.
