Nissan Quest: Evolution of the Japanese Minivan

Nissan Quest is a minivan that replaced two models on the assembly line: Axxess and Vanette. The model name translates from English as "quest."

First Generation (1992–1999)

The first Nissan Quest was developed jointly with Ford. An agreement to create a new model was signed in 1987, and active work on the project began in 1989. The design of the Japanese version was developed by Thomas Semple. Prototypes were tested in the USA from 1990 to 1992. The car debuted in 1992 at the Detroit Auto Show simultaneously with its American counterpart, the Mercury Villager. The model was based on the Ford VX54 platform and was equipped with a single 3.0-liter gasoline engine.

Second Generation (1999–2003)

In 1999, the second generation of the Nissan Quest appeared. The car received a more streamlined body and a new 3.3-liter gasoline engine. The main design change was the addition of a fourth side door on the left side. High-end trims featured a panoramic sunroof.

Third Generation (2003–2010)

The third generation was introduced in 2003 at the Detroit Auto Show. Starting with this generation, the minivan was produced by Nissan independently, without Ford's involvement. The model was built on the new corporate FF-L platform, and under the hood was a 3.5-liter gasoline engine.

Fourth Generation (since 2010)

The fourth and currently last generation of the Nissan Quest was officially introduced in 2010 at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The car significantly grew in size, received a modern exterior design, and a more practical interior compared to its predecessor. The model is built on the new Nissan D platform.

Deliveries of the Nissan Quest to Ukraine began in 2011. The minivan is sold through unofficial dealers of the brand. The car is equipped with a 3.5-liter gasoline engine paired with a continuously variable transmission. Drive — front.
