Six months of long-term operation of the new Volvo S80 are behind us. During this time, the car under our management covered 12,500 km. That's quite enough to fully get used to the car.
"Please note, your power of attorney expires in ten days!" — this phrase from the traffic officer after another document check was like a verdict.
How so? Have those six months that the new S80 was supposed to spend with us on a long-term test already passed? Indeed, you get used to good things quickly.
But everything comes to an end. Our six-month coexistence with this car has also ended. Are we satisfied with it? More yes than no. Of course, there were some surprises that we wrote about. But mostly, the "eighty" only pleased us.
Already at the end of the test, an icon started flashing on the instrument panel, warning that the "fifteen-thousand" maintenance was not far off. By the way, today the inter-service interval for the Volvo S80 has been increased to 20,000 km, and cars of the 2008 model year already undergo maintenance with such an interval. As, indeed, will "our" car in the future. Its computer will be reprogrammed, and the next time the future owner will visit the service center at 35,000 km.
Lucky, in a word. The maintenance itself today costs about 10,000 rubles. Not too ruinous, considering that the car itself costs well over a million. But it is really worth it.
