Country of origin: Ukraine
After the production of the VAZ 2110 sedan ended in Russia, assembly of the model was moved to Ukraine. There the car received a new name — "Bogdan 2110", a corresponding badge on the radiator grille, and a slightly modified appearance. No changes occurred in the technical part: the same 1.6-liter gasoline engine in two versions (8- and 16-valve), 5-speed manual transmission, front-wheel drive, and suspension remained. As before, active and passive safety systems are almost completely absent.
History
Production of the "Bogdan 2110" started after the discontinuation of the VAZ-2110 in 2007.
Assembly of the Bogdan 2110 was organized at the Ukrainian plant "Bogdan" in Cherkasy. The main components and assemblies were supplied from Russia, but the "Ukrainian ten" also used many locally produced parts. In particular, the Bogdan 2110 was equipped with Ukrainian battery, wheels, tires, and more.

In addition to the 2110 sedan, the Cherkasy plant also mastered the assembly of the Bogdan 2111 station wagon.

In the spring of 2014, the company's management announced the cessation of production of the Bogdan 2110 and Bogdan 2111 models. Despite the end of assembly from VAZ car kits, the warehouse stock of finished cars allowed them to be sold for several more months.
Exterior
Externally, the "Bogdan 2110" replicates the appearance of the Russian donor VAZ-2110. The differences lie in a different logo, modified radiator grille, and front bumper. Also notable is the different shape of the front and rear lights.

Otherwise, the Cherkasy "Bogdan" is an analogue of the Lada. In addition to the sedan and station wagon, the Ukrainian assembly offered cargo versions under the names Bogdan 2310 and Bogdan 2312.
Interior
The interior of the "Bogdan 2110" also has some differences from the Russian donor — they are minor but noticeable. The model received a different instrument panel, a different steering wheel, and different driver and front passenger seats.

Even in the base version, an onboard computer is provided. Otherwise, the interior of the "Bogdan" repeats the VAZ: it is a budget car with simple furnishings. However, it is worth noting that in Cherkasy, the fitting of panels and interior elements is done well and does not cause complaints.

There is enough space in the Bogdan 2110 cabin for those who do not have high demands for space. The seats are quite soft and comfortable, and the rear bench also does not cause serious complaints. The trunk volume is 450 liters, which is enough for transporting things.

Five trim levels are available. The base version includes an immobilizer, tachometer, and front power windows. Electric power steering and air conditioning are available only for two modifications, while alloy wheels and fog lights are available for three.
Engine and transmission
For the Bogdan 2110 and 2111, two engines of the same displacement but different power were offered. The base version was equipped with an 80-horsepower 1.6-liter 8-valve engine, consuming about 10 liters of fuel in the urban cycle.

The second engine is a 16-valve with 89 horsepower.

With the 80-horsepower engine, the "Bogdan 2110" accelerates to 165 km/h and reaches 100 km/h in 13.5 seconds. The more powerful engine provides dynamics of 12.5 seconds to 100 km/h and a top speed of 175 km/h. According to the manufacturer, regardless of power, the Bogdan 2110 consumes 7.2 liters of A-95 gasoline in the combined cycle.
It is also worth noting that the 2110 model could come off the assembly line with gas-balloon equipment, which was available for both engines. The gearbox is one, a 5-speed manual.
Safety
The Ukrainian manufacturer claimed that the Bogdan 2110 meets safety requirements, but did not specify which ones. Airbags are not provided, but there are safety beams and front deformation zones. It is difficult to unambiguously assess the safety level of this car. If we recall the crash tests of the VAZ-2110 conducted by "Autoreview", this car can be characterized as more or less acceptable in terms of safety.

Features
According to rumors, the Ukrainian-assembled heir to the VAZ surpasses the Togliatti analogue in build and paint quality. This opinion is held not only by some Ukrainians but also by Russians.

The improved quality is explained by more modern equipment at the Cherkasy plant, as well as high-tech body treatment and painting.
Popularity in Ukraine
If you ask a Ukrainian about the most popular car in the country, they will most likely name the Lanos. However, in Kyiv, according to the results of 2013, the best-selling new model was the "Bogdan 2110".

Our verdict
For those who have a weakness for AvtoVAZ products, the "Bogdan-2110" is an ideal option. This car is relatively inexpensive, practical, and like any "Zhiguli", it can be repaired independently or at any service station. There are also no problems with spare parts. Conclusion: if you need a car that is inexpensive to buy and maintain, we recommend considering the "Bogdan 2110".
