The Toyota bZ4X is Toyota's first series-production electric car built on the dedicated e-TNGA platform rather than an adapted combustion architecture. The bZ prefix stands for beyond Zero, Toyota's badge for its full electric range.
It was developed jointly with Subaru, which sells a technically identical car as the Solterra. Toyota took its traditionally conservative approach to the battery, limiting usable charge with a buffer to preserve long-term capacity.
