The Italian brand Alfa Romeo traces its history back to 1910. It originated from a company that had been assembling French cars since 1906. Initially, the company was called A.L.F.A. (Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica di Automobili). It received its current name in 1915 when it became part of a group of enterprises owned by Nicola Romeo, whose surname was added to the name.
