The Lexus RC 350 is a rear-wheel-drive coupe of the G1 class with a 2+2 seating layout. The model debuted in December 2013 at the Tokyo Motor Show.
The car is built on a platform combining elements from three Lexus models: the front double-wishbone suspension is taken from the GS, the rear multi-link suspension from the IS, and the middle section from the IS C. The sill cross-section is doubled compared to the sedan, and the underbody is additionally reinforced with torsion struts. The design uses shock absorbers with variable damping characteristics. The chassis is fully steerable: at speeds up to 80 km/h, the rear wheels turn in the opposite direction to the front, and above that threshold, they turn in the same direction.
Under the hood is a 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine. The injection system is combined: each cylinder has two piezo injectors — one supplies fuel to the intake manifold, the other directly into the combustion chamber. This scheme combines the advantages of port and direct injection. The engine produces 317 hp at 6400 rpm. It is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 6.3 seconds, and the average fuel consumption is stated at 9.7 L/100 km.
The F-Sport trim offers 19-inch wheels, a modified grille, and upgraded lighting.
