Drum brakes

Drum brakes are an assembly where a drum is attached to the wheel, and brake shoes are placed inside it. When braking, these shoes press against the inner surface of the drum, creating deceleration. In terms of efficiency, this scheme is significantly weaker than disc brakes. Today it is used only on the rear axle of inexpensive cars.
