Introduction of driver's license validity period: truth and fiction

The driving community of Ukraine was greatly agitated by statements from the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs regarding the introduction of a validity period for driver's licenses. Initially, it was about mandatory replacement, then about the fact that existing licenses would remain valid, but for traveling abroad, new ones with a limited validity period would need to be obtained, since from March 29, 2011, other documents would allegedly not be recognized by foreign police. The transition to such licenses is explained by Ukraine's international obligations.
