Nissan Tiida vs Lancer

December 2, 2008 · A discussion from the forum archive

The Tiida doesn't have a CVT — it has a regular automatic, even without a manual mode. But the Lancer X 2.0 actually has a CVT. The design, especially of the sedan, is an acquired taste. At the same time, the Lancer X's appearance is one of the best in its class. These are completely different cars: the Tiida is a comfortable family car, while the Lancer is sporty and aggressive. By the way, the minimum engine displacement for the Tiida is 1.6.
The Mexican Tiida has little in common with the premium class — as, indeed, does the Lancer. But its sound insulation is indeed better than that of the Lancer.
