Renault Fluence - ground clearance

March 28, 2011 · A discussion from the forum archive

I have a Renault Symbol of the fourth phase, I've been driving it for five years since it was new from the dealership. The car fully satisfies me, I haven't been disappointed in French cars. But now I want something new, a class higher. The Fluence suits me in all respects, the only thing that bothers me is the ground clearance. I mostly drive on asphalt, but in summer there are trips for fishing, mushrooms, and berries. I don't go into serious off-road, but I still have to leave the asphalt. Those who drive a Fluence, share your experience: how does it behave on dirt roads and in light off-road conditions? I don't want to switch to a crossover — it's about 200 thousand more expensive and less economical in everyday use.
If ground clearance is important, it's worth looking at the Duster — it's only 25–30 thousand more expensive than the Symbol.
