New Sonata

January 19, 2011 · A discussion from the forum archive

I ask those who understand to respond: what exactly are the design differences between the new Sonata that is officially sold here and the one brought from the Emirates (Oman, Kuwait)? I want to understand how reasonable it is to save about 30% on the price. The main thing is that it doesn't turn out that by saving on the purchase, you then spend more on fixing problems. I couldn't find clear information on the internet, so I would be very grateful to owners of such cars for details.
Arabic cars are practically no different in design from those sold here, however all technical fluids in them are designed for operation in extreme heat conditions. Therefore, before the onset of cold weather, it is worth replacing the oil and antifreeze. A more powerful battery may also be required. And you should not count on any heaters — in the desert they are simply not needed.
