After a minor accident, the Forester refuses to start

January 8, 2011 · A discussion from the forum archive

After a side impact to the left fender and driver's door, the Subaru Forester refused to start on the spot: when turning the key to the ignition position, the fuel pump is silent (I checked by sound), the coolant temperature sensor blinks alternately red and green, and when trying to start, the starter does not react. Attempting to start by pushing also gave no result, not even a hint of ignition. What could be the cause? If this happened late in the evening and far from the city, the problem is serious.
