First Generation Smart Fortwo (1998)
The Smart Fortwo microcar in a three-door hatchback body began production in 1998. Manufacturing was set up in Germany and France. The model quickly became popular among European drivers due to its compact dimensions, which allow parking parallel or perpendicular to the curb without protruding into the adjacent lane.
