ZXAuto entered the automotive market in 1999 and over time took one of the leading positions in the Chinese auto industry. Its specialization is exclusively SUVs and pickup trucks. Over the years of operation, the manufacturer has noticeably improved the quality and design of its cars.
If in 2001 the share of local components in ZXAuto cars reached 60%, by 2004–2005 it had dropped to 15%. Now the company uses components from global brands such as Toyota, Isuzu, Hyundai, Ford, Mitsubishi, Nissan, GM, and VW.
