The Italian brand Maserati was founded in 1914. Its history began with a workshop opened by the Maserati brothers. However, the official status of the brand was recognized only in 1926. In 1968, the company was bought by Citroen, but in 1975 it came under the management of De Tomaso. Since 1993, Maserati has been part of the Fiat group. In 1997, Fiat decided to merge Maserati with Ferrari, and since then the brand has been operating under the control of this company.
