The futuristic look of the new-generation Honda Civic has sparked a lot of debate, especially for the five-door version. The public is more reserved about the sedan. And in vain!
The Civic's appearance may not appeal to everyone. But the fact that it is bright and extraordinary is hard to argue with. This primarily applies to the five-door hatchback. Against its background, the sedan looks much more modest. However, changing the body type has not affected the car's character, and this is fundamentally important.
Behind the wheel of the Civic, both a beginner and an experienced driver feel comfortable. This versatility is provided by a 5-speed automatic transmission with three operating modes. In the standard "drive" position, shifts occur at 3000-4000 rpm, and the engine does not bother with a loud hum. With a sharp press on the gas, the tachometer needle can reach the 6000 rpm mark. If you switch the selector to S ("sport") mode, the response to the accelerator pedal changes instantly, without any pauses. The engine revs up to 7000 rpm. It is pleasant that the thrust does not fail across the entire rev range up to the cutoff. The automatic shifts to the next gear itself, and in manual mode, only after pressing the paddle shifters. The steering pleases with excellent feedback. The steering wheel has a short travel near the zero position — this is convenient. The suspension deserves special praise, which successfully combines comfort and elasticity. The only thing that can be complained about is the brakes.
