Citroen C5 HDI 2.0. From $ 36,484 (291,870 UAH)

No one needs to be convinced that Citroen is comfortable. But has it lost its charm with the appearance of diesel powertrains under the hood?

For testing, we got the version with the least powerful engine. Of course, compared to petrol variants, the hum under the hood here is quite peculiar, but there is no question of any acoustic discomfort (let alone moral). The first few hundred meters did not bode anything special. Everything went as usual, especially since the car had a six-speed automatic transmission. The real discovery came when we had to quickly leave an intersection. Although the engine power is only 138 hp, the acceleration turned out to be quite brisk. Yes, 12 seconds to 100 km/h is not an outstanding figure, but do not forget: the two-liter petrol engine can boast the same dynamics. The diesel wins due to torque. Here it reaches 320 Nm already at two thousand revolutions.

In addition, the variable-geometry turbine provides even torque at almost any speed, which benefits both acceleration and smoothness. And perhaps most importantly: unlike petrol modifications, the C5 almost did not drink fuel. The ten liters of diesel poured into the tank was enough for about a hundred kilometers in the city. And that was comfortable driving!

Driving
Most of the pleasure comes from measured, relaxed driving. But if you want, you can also drive recklessly on this car.

Interior
Inside it is quite spacious and moderately stuffed with electronics, although, of course, everyone has their own idea of moderation.

Price
The car fully justifies its cost.

Advantages and disadvantages

+ Low fuel consumption, spacious and comfortable interior, durable suspension.
