A 4785 mm crossover with a wheelbase that allows a genuinely spacious second row: in size the Song Plus competes with the Toyota RAV4 and Volkswagen Tiguan, but costs noticeably less than either.
Powertrains and batteries
The electric version uses an 87 kWh Blade battery and a 218 hp front-mounted motor, giving up to 605 km on the Chinese CLTC cycle — real-world range is considerably lower, around 420-450 km in mixed driving.
The DM-i hybrid pairs a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a 26.6 kWh battery: it covers 150-160 km on electricity alone and then works as a conventional hybrid, so charging on a long trip never becomes an issue.
Equipment
Even entry versions get LED lighting, a panoramic roof, surround-view cameras, a powered tailgate and BYD's signature rotating infotainment screen. Flagship trims add ventilated seats and an upgraded audio system.
