A crossover 4810 mm long, 1920 mm wide and 1675 mm tall, on a 2820 mm wheelbase. Kerb weight ranges from 1890 to 2190 kg depending on version — the electric variants are heavier because of the battery.
Electric versions
Two Blade batteries are offered: 65.3 kWh in the Pilot and 78.7 kWh in the Pilot Plus and Pilot Pro. The rear motor produces 231 and 245 hp respectively, for 520 and 605 km of CLTC range. Rear-wheel drive is unusual in this class and noticeably shapes how the car handles.
DM-i hybrid
The DM-i version is built around a 1.5-litre BYD476QC petrol engine with 218 hp of system output and front-wheel drive. BYD quotes a combined range of 1670 km with a full tank and a charged battery.
Equipment
All versions get independent suspension, disc brakes all round, an extended driver-assistance package, a panoramic roof and infotainment with a rotating screen.
