About the Bentley brand
United Kingdom founded in 1919 Model range
The British car manufacturer Bentley was founded in 1919 by Walter Owen Bentley, after whom the brand is named. In 1931, the company was bought by Rolls-Royce. After losing independence in 1935, Walter Owen Bentley left the company he had created.
In 1998, Rolls-Royce itself lost its independence and became part of BMW, while the Bentley brand was transferred to the Volkswagen Group on December 31, 2002. The change of ownership gave Bentley a new impetus: the model range was expanded with three new models — the Continental GT, Continental GTC, and Continental Flying Spur.
