About the Aston Martin brand
United Kingdom Model range
The Aston Martin brand traces its history back to 1914, when Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford built a lightweight sports car in London's Kensington. It was based on the chassis of the Italian Isotta Fraschini and powered by a 1.4-liter Coventry-Simples engine. A year earlier, Martin had won a local hillclimb at Aston Clinton driving a Singer 10. In honor of this victory, the new car was named Aston Martin.
