14. Overtaking

14.2. Before starting to overtake, the driver must make sure that:
a) none of the drivers of vehicles moving behind him, who may be obstructed, has started overtaking;
b) the driver of the vehicle moving ahead in the same lane has not signaled an intention to turn (change lanes) to the left;
c) the lane of oncoming traffic, into which he will enter, is free of vehicles at a distance sufficient for overtaking;
d) after overtaking, he will be able to return to the occupied lane without creating obstacles for the overtaken vehicle.
14.3. The driver of the vehicle being overtaken is prohibited from obstructing overtaking by increasing speed or by other actions.
14.4. If outside a populated area the road conditions do not allow overtaking agricultural machinery whose width exceeds 2.6 m, a slow-moving or large-sized vehicle, its driver must drive as far to the right as possible, and if necessary, stop on the roadside and let vehicles moving behind him pass.

14.5. The driver of the vehicle performing overtaking may remain in the oncoming traffic lane if, after returning to the previously occupied lane, he would have to start overtaking again, provided that he does not create danger to oncoming vehicles and does not obstruct vehicles moving behind him at a higher speed.
14.6. Overtaking is prohibited:
a) at intersections;

b) at railway crossings and closer than 100 m before them;
c) closer than 50 m before a pedestrian crossing in a populated area and 100 m - outside a populated area;
d) at the end of an ascent, on bridges, overpasses, viaducts, sharp curves and other road sections with limited visibility or in conditions of insufficient visibility;
e) of a vehicle that is overtaking or passing;
f) in tunnels;
g) on roads having two or more lanes for traffic in one direction;
h) of a column of vehicles, behind which a vehicle with a flashing beacon (except orange) is moving.
