Aquaplaning

Aquaplaning is a phenomenon in which a tire loses traction on a wet road. Water does not have time to be drained through the tread grooves, causing the wheel to slide on the surface, as if floating.

This situation most often occurs when a car is moving at high speed in heavy rain or crossing deep puddles.
