Power steering

Power steering is a mechanism that reduces the effort required to turn the steering wheel. Its operation is based on a pump that creates pressure in the hydraulic system while drawing some energy from the engine. The generated pressure acts on a piston, providing additional assistance to the driver when turning the wheel.
