Water hammer (Water hammer)

Hydrostatic lock is a situation when liquid, usually water, gets into the engine cylinders, which happens when forcing water obstacles. The main symptom is a sudden stop of the power unit with a noticeable impact. The consequences are serious: pistons break, connecting rods deform, and cracks appear in the block and head. Because of this, in most cases the engine requires a complete overhaul.
