The corporation BYD Co., Ltd (BYD) was founded in 1995 as a manufacturer of rechargeable batteries. Now the company BYD specializes in cars, alternative energy sources and IT technologies. The concern BYD Co., Ltd is a world leader in the production of batteries and energy-saving systems.
Since 2003, along with the production of batteries, BYD AUTO has been producing cars and electric vehicles, as well as automotive parts. Even then, BYD cars combined high quality at an affordable price. Thus, over several years, more than 700,000 BYD F3 sedans were sold worldwide.
In 2009, American multimillionaire Warren Buffett became one of the key shareholders of BYD. He was attracted by the company's rapid development pace, a strong research and development base, and the production of electric vehicles. In total, the BYD AUTO model lineup includes 17 models, including the E6 electric car, the K9 electric bus, and 3 hybrid models.
In 2010, the company BYD took 1st place in the list of the most technologically advanced companies in the world (according to the American publication "Businessweek"), ahead of such giants as Apple and Google, and 2nd place among automotive companies, ahead of Ford, Volkswagen and BMW. In addition, BYD Corporation has been cooperating with Daimler AG (the manufacturer of Mercedes cars) for the second year already to create a new generation of electric vehicles.
BYD AUTO is the only Chinese automaker that exhibits its cars at the Geneva Motor Show and has representative offices on all continents. Production facilities are located in China, Japan and European countries.
In Ukraine, at the end of October, 6 models of A, C-high, E and SUV classes were presented: F0, F3, F3R, F6, G3, S6.
